English Activities

Did you know that Chi Hong has so many fun English activities for all students to enjoy? Take a look below!

English Musical

We are happy to share this year’s English Musical – United We Shine! The story is about three little turtles who have come to Chi Hong. The school decides to put on a Talent Show with all students and raise money to build them a nice pool. Students need to work together in order to perform well.

Our students have worked very hard and demonstrated teamwork as they prepared for our English Musical this year. We are proud to see them learning and growing through this collaborative process. Take a look at some of the pictures below to see the highlights!

Singing Group

Our students have learnt some fun English songs and improved their English immensely in this fun group!

Puppetry

What better way to have fun and learn English than by grabbing a sock, sticking some decorations on it and making it talk! Our students loved re-enacting their fun stories in English using their sock puppets this year!

English Fun Club

Learning English doesn’t only have to be around reading and vocabulary. Sometimes it can just be about having fun and learning creative crafts by using the language!

English Drama

Many people say that the best way to learn a language is through role-play. Exactly in this way, students loved becoming their favourite characters and showing their personalities on the stage. Their English improved greatly as a result!

English Ambassadors

Our English Ambassadors go around the school helping other students with their English, whether that be during recess activities, morning weather reports, or other great English activities.

Booster Class

Need a grammar clinic? Then this is the class for you! Aimed at helping students fix their tricky grammar problems, this class has proven to be a great success in helping students boost their confidence in English grammar.

Creative Media

English is all about real life language. One way to help students see the reality of this is to introduce real English media – songs, movies, TV shows – and… act them out! Students learnt how to use very native-like English in this fun club.

Reading Buddies

Reading should be fun! It is not just about sitting quietly and reading page after page. Sometimes, enjoying reading can also be about designing creative bookmarks, drawing book posters or holding book sharings.

English Scientists

Real life English is all around us. Don’t just learn about the world in Chinese – Let’s use English too! In this exciting club, students can get their hands messy and interact with a range of fun science experiments, as they learn new vocabulary and concepts in English.

English Speaking Club

The best way to learn English is to really use it! In this fun, interactive club, students will get to encounter English in a variety of different situations where they can see and use real language.

Choral Speaking

In this class, students learn to recite and enjoy famous English poems and sing fun English songs. One of the best ways to get English to stick into your brain, is to read something with rhythm and rhyme!

English Board Games

Students get so excited when they can play competitive board games together! They can learn some routine, simple English related to taking turns and numbers!
